CR Meeting

Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a biblical and balanced program to help individuals overcome

hurts, habits, and hang-ups. The intention of the program is to change lives and foster spiritual commitment to God through a Bible-based, Christ-centered 12 step recovery program.

CR is based on the actual words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. While undoubtedly many lives have been helped through classic 12-step programs, those programs are vague about the nature of God, the saving power of Jesus Christ, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. By embracing these realities and applying the principles of the program, we become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. The freedom promotes peace, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

When We Meet: CR has one large weekly meeting on Tuesday nights at Believers Church beginning with a dinner at 6 pm followed by the large gathering at 7 pm. Various 12-step groups meet throughout the week. These smaller groups offer a safe, confidential place to share your experience, strength and hope with others in recovery. They also provide an atmosphere of accountability.

Order of Service:

6:00 pm – Dinner (free the first time, $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children after)

7:00 pm – Main Meeting (worship, testimony, teaching)

8:00 pm – Small Groups (gender specific to share our thoughts on the lesson and what stood out)

9:00 pm – Coffee, dessert, and fellowship

12-Step Group Availability: All existing groups are closed at this point. However, we take names of those interested in a Step Study continually. When we gather enough to start a group, we open one up. We have begun a waiting list already for both a new men’s and a women’s group. If interested, sign up at the CR table in the Lobby at any time or call Jim (918-688-0552) or Pam (918-629-4306).

Step Study Description: The CR STEP STUDY is a Christ-centered recovery model which is the heart of the process. This is where a committed group of participants goes through four CR participant guides together. It is a very structured process with guidelines in place to ensure a safe and productive meeting. The participant guides provide a systematic and effective way to work through the CR 8 Principles and 12 Steps with Christ as our higher power and can bring significant freedom and healing to life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
